We have spent some time looking at small businesses that use social media sharing and from 104 random restaurants in Melbourne we found that only 40 use social sharing buttons like the Facebook like or Twitter Share button. Of those businesses that use social sharing, 12 do it well with thousands of Facebook Fans but the remaining 28 had very few fans / followers / shares!

Our view is businesses could benefit from being more engaged with Social Media but why would someone visiting your site want to engage? To answer this question here are some interesting recent findings:

We have been working on a solution for businesses that delivers better outcomes and are pleased to announce that the ‘Reward Me‘ button is now publicly available.

We have developed the Reward Me button to help you engage with visitors to your business website and it targets the 69.8% of customers who are loyal and who would like incentives from your business. The button also gives you the ability to promote to your crowd with high performing marketing options that put you in control.

This week our CTO, Brendan Marsh, was interviewed for The Australian newspaper. The article is entitled “Tools emerge for crunching big data” and was written by journalist Brad Howarth.

The article analyses the emerging industry of Data-as-a-service (DAAS) & provides examples of how companies are using these services to achieve great things.

In the article, Brendan explains how CrowdSauce uses Factual, a DAAS company from the US, to provide data to our users to find a business & request a deal.

The article doesn’t appear to be on The Australian website, but if it shows up, we’ll post a link.

There is a big red button on each page of CrowdSauce that we call the ‘Reward Me’ button. It’s got a big heart and by pressing this button you are letting us know that you love that business and would like a deal from the business.

But is keeping the Reward Me Button to ourselves fair? If you list a product, service or menu item on your website or mobile app wouldn’t it be nice to engage with your crowd who may be interested in a deal on that item or from your business?

Add the Reward Me Button to your site, page or app…

The Reward Me Button lets a user ask for a deal from your business. When the user clicks on the button on your site, they register their interest in receiving a deal and have the option to share their request via their Facebook or Twitter feed.

When your webpage represents a product or service like entertainment venues, retail stores, restaurants and menu items, you can add the button to your page or mobile site. As the crowd of people who press Reward Me grows, you can chose to reward those customers via a notification that is sent only to those customers.
